International growth brings not only opportunities but also complexity, especially when it comes to recruitment. For an organization like Plukon Food Group, with more than 11,000 employees spread across several European countries, this means navigating different labor markets, cultures, and working practices on a daily basis.
It was precisely within that dynamic that the need for greater cohesion arose. After all, how do you ensure that recruitment doesn’t become fragmented, but instead grows stronger as your organization expands? For Plukon, the answer lay in:
creating clarity, improving the candidate experience, and gaining control over data: so that recruitment is not just an operational function, but also becomes strategically steerable.
A co-pilot for scalable recruitment
To take their recruitment to the next level, Plukon needed a technology partner that could not only provide advice but also build and implement solutions. That’s where we came in.
The collaboration between Plukon Food Group and Matchlab began with a clear objective: to develop engaging career websites for various countries. What started as a straightforward project soon turned out to be part of a larger challenge.
As soon as recruitment is organized across multiple countries, it becomes clear where the friction lies. Different systems, processes, and a lack of central structure make it difficult to work consistently and share insights. This calls for a single foundation (ATS) that connects everything.
With this in mind, Matchlab took on the role of co-pilot. Rather than merely offering advice, the focus was on building, implementing, and continuously improving. Step by step, this creates a recruitment environment that grows alongside the organization and aligns with both its international ambitions and local realities.
One framework, multiple countries, one structure
The approach centers on striking the right balance between a centralized structure and local autonomy. Career websites have been developed for multiple countries based on a single shared design, while the content and visual style are tailored to each country’s local target audience.
The first results are already visible in Spain, France, and Germany. At the same time, work is continuing on the next phase, in which Poland, Belgium, and the Netherlands, among others, will be integrated into the same structure.
The strength of this approach lies in its cohesiveness. In addition to the local websites, we are developing a centralized career portal where all Plukon job openings are listed and candidates can easily navigate the site, regardless of their location.
At its core, the Recruitee ATS platform is built on the same philosophy:
a single standardized foundation for processes and data, with room for local adaptations.
This creates an ecosystem in which technology, structure, and data are seamlessly integrated, while allowing for both centralized control and local flexibility.
From isolated initiatives to scalable impact
Although the process is still very much a work in progress, the first phase already clearly demonstrates the benefits of this approach. In the countries where the new ATS structure has been implemented and the career websites are live, a noticeable shift toward greater professionalism is evident in both the visual appeal and the user experience.
At the same time, a shared framework is created in which processes and systems are seamlessly integrated. This makes it possible to consistently collect and analyze recruitment data, ensuring that insights are comparable and enabling teams to make adjustments more quickly and effectively.
This combination of visible improvements and a strong foundation ensures that recruitment is not only organized more efficiently but also grows alongside the organization. At the same time, it fosters greater connection between teams, makes collaboration easier, and provides candidates with a more consistent candidate journey—regardless of where they enter the process.
Technology that enhances international recruitment
As organizations expand internationally, the complexity of recruitment increases. Without a clear structure, this can quickly lead to fragmentation, a loss of oversight, and missed opportunities.
By properly establishing technology, data, and processes from the ground up, we create a foundation that provides direction, adapts as the organization grows, and helps organizations use recruitment strategically.
Together with Plukon, Matchlab shows you how to take that step. Not just by offering advice, but by building, implementing, and proving that it works.
