EBS is a daily sight on the streets. Buses come and go, taking people to their destinations. But as an employer, its visibility lagged behind.
The career website wasn’t telling the story EBS wanted to convey. The content was outdated, failed to convey a sense of the organization, and didn’t resonate with the target audience. At the same time, there was a lack of insight into recruitment data, making it difficult to determine what was working and where adjustments needed to be made.
As a result, the scope of the project quickly expanded beyond just a new website. It involved:
establishing an employer brand that rings true, both internally and externally.
Building a shared narrative together
EBS reached out to us through our partner Recruitee (Tellent), and it quickly became clear where the greatest opportunity lay. Initially, the focus was on gaining greater insight into the ATS system through dashboarding, but it gradually became clear that this was just one part of a broader challenge.
Together with EBS, we’ve taken a fresh look at the entire recruitment landscape. Not as separate components, but as a single, integrated whole in which technology, processes, and employer branding reinforce one another.
Matchlab took on the role of co-pilot in this process. Not from the sidelines, but right in the thick of it, with an approach that seamlessly integrates strategy and execution.
From insight to a strong recruitment foundation
We started with the basics: understanding the target audience. Through a targeted analysis, it became clear who EBS wants to attract and what these people expect from an employer. That served as the starting point for all subsequent steps.
We then streamlined the recruitment process. The dashboarding was redesigned so that EBS could monitor candidate intake, conversion rates, and channel performance not just after the fact, but in real time. The ATS environment in Recruitee was also redesigned to reduce manual work and improve visibility.
Building on that foundation, we rebuilt the employer brand. In Recruitee’s CareersHub, we developed a careers website that brings everything together: a single, consistent narrative in both visuals and text, supported by content fully tailored to the target audience. For photography and video, we collaborated with Dors Studios to ensure the right visual identity was conveyed.
The result: a recruitment framework that works in practice
As of April 1, the new ATS platform—including the "werkenbij" website with new employer branding visuals—went live. The results are immediately apparent, but the real value lies in the underlying foundation.
EBS now offers:
- a website that clearly and consistently showcases the employer brand
- an ATS system that supports the recruitment process
- and dashboarding that provides insight and guidance in recruitment
With this foundation, EBS can continue to build in a targeted manner. Data serves as the compass for optimization, with a focus on conversion, turnaround time , and the quality of the applicant pool. As a result, the recruitment process is not only better structured but also more manageable.
Ultimately, the biggest change lies in how things feel within the organization. Teams recognize themselves in the story being shared externally and feel more in control of the process. A sense of calm emerges as systems and work methods align more effectively, and a sense of pride arises because EBS now presents itself in a way that truly reflects who they are as an employer.
As Albert (Recruitment & AMC Manager at EBS) puts it:
“Finally, we have an online home that truly feels like EBS. The website is a platform that brings to life our accessibility, our unique family-like atmosphere, and our shared ambition.”
Ready for the future
A strong employer brand doesn’t just happen on its own. It requires clear decisions, collaboration, and an approach that combines insight with execution.
With this step, EBS has laid a foundation on which to build further. An approach that not only works today but is also ready for the next phase.
